Warsaw Glia Symposium poster

Category: Conferences, Events

The Institute for Advanced Studies invites you to participate in the Warsaw Glia Symposium, which will be held on 16–17 October 2025 at the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw (ul. Stefana Banacha 2c, Warsaw, Poland).

This unique international scientific meeting will be devoted to glial cells – their diversity, functions, and role in the development, plasticity, and pathology of the nervous system. The symposium will bring together researchers working on astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, microglia and other glial cell types, both in the context of basic and translational research.

As the first Warsaw event dedicated to glial research, the symposium aims to present the latest findings and to foster collaboration among scientists from different research centres. It will also emphasise the role of the Polish glial research community in the European scientific landscape. Among the invited speakers are world-class scientists from Poland, other European countries, and the USA.

What’s in store for participants?
  • Inspiring lectures and thematic sessions led by experts
  • A poster session featuring the latest research projects
  • Opportunities to connect during social events, including the conference dinner and a guided tour of Warsaw

The symposium is open to researchers at all stages—from undergraduate students to senior scientists—and participation is free of charge.

The event is co-funded by the Institute for Advanced Studies, University of Warsaw.
