Category: Events

Until mid-February, the exhibition “CeNT through the lens” will be on display in the Kazimierzowski Palace, showcasing research conducted at the Centre of New Technologies of the University of Warsaw (CeNT).

It is the first in a series of exhibitions planned by the University Rectorate to promote the most important research and development activities conducted at the University of Warsaw. It showcases the research of individual CeNT laboratories.

Part of this event was a mini-symposium From fundamental discoveries to a safe and sustainable future, which took place on 30 January 2024 in the auditorium of the Old Library of the UW. Participants had the opportunity to hear the presentations on mRNA technology, optical quantum technologies, and new materials and technologies in times of energy transition. The lectures were complemented by a panel discussion on the global challenges facing civilisation in terms of health, sustainable environment and sustainable energy economy, in which the panelists were biologists, chemists and physicists involved in interdisciplinary research in the field of applications of natural and exact sciences in medicine, neurobiology, quantum technologies, archaeology and the use of new energy sources. The whole event was summed up by the UW Rector, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak.

More information about the exhibition can be found here, while details of the symposium are available here.

The event is supported by funding from the UW Institute for Advanced Studies.
